Though it's thought that most of us Aspies are introverted, I've lately been finding that not to be the case. I am typically introverted - meaning, I refuel by being alone. Extroverts refuel by being around others. Found the article (below) interesting.

"Introversion is about recognizing similarities in impressions that have already been assimilated into consciousness. Whenever an introverted function encounters an object, its concern is not really with examining the object but rather with accessing their storehouse of previously digested impressions."

I'm pretty introverted, and what I just read doesn't make any sense to me. It looks like excessive extrapolation from vapor.

I'm pretty introverted, even when I put on an extroverted front. I seem pretty charismatic around my friends and people I know, but introduce me to someone else and it'll get awkward.

I guess it really depends on how you define the terms. I "refuel" by being alone. But that's because I have to wear a damn mask everywhere I go. And care about things I'm not interested in.

If I found more people like me, and I didn't have to put up a charade the whole time, I'm sure I'd like to be with people more often (maybe). I also need time to think about things that just happened, rather than have constant chatter/stimulation.

I have to separate and be by myself after a movie, so I can process and think about what I just watched. Conversations are the same way, I have to take a few minutes to think about what just happened.

So I guess that puts me as "Introverted".

I sooo appreciate your comment. I also need time to think about things that just happened. Constant chatter/stimulation is what makes it hard to live with others. :^/ I also do the same after movie. :^)

Introverted in the sense, that I reload by being alone, and that I prefer smaller social circles.

Mostly introverted, even as a baby.
But in puberty I was extroverted for a time, but it exausted me.

What is the author of the article's background? His view of extroverts and introverts doesn't really seem to reflect the way the words are used.

I'm an extrovert most of the time. I enjoy that. I like talking to people, I'll start conversations with strangers, I'll talk your ear off. But, I don't like people dropping in on me, I don't like talking to people sometimes when I'm stressed, and when I want to be alone and something stops that I will almost have a meltdown.

It's a Jungian perspective.

I don't "refuel" by being alone. Nor I do by being around others.
After I've passed some time with other people, I don't feel the need to be alone to "recharge".
I don't feel socializing as exhausting, but simply as boring (most of the times).
So I guess that this "refueling" thing can't be applied to me.

I pass most of my time alone, because I don't feel the need to be with others. I have some friends that I hardly ever ring up because I don't like talking on the phone.
I talk a lot because I have an uncontrollable impulse to talk and talk and talk. This is why I often talk (in my head or out loud) even when I'm alone.

Most people consider me an introvert. Since I pass most of my time alone and I don't suffer from loneliness I guess I am.

I would say I'm about 85% introvert and 15% extrovert because I do want to be people around people some of the time. But mostly, I prefer to be by myself.

I suspect that what the author wants to say is that introverts prefers to reflect and analyze things, while extroverts prefer to observe things. For example, looking for an house, an introvert will elaborate a theory about the house ("this is a typically Southern European house - the flat roof is because there is less rain, and the blue bands near the door have Moorish influences - it is the same color that the tribes of North Africa use in their clothes") while an extrovert will look at the details of the house ("this house have 3 windows, a door and a flat roof; there are blue bands around the door and the windows; there is a vessel with a rosemary near the door"). However, a problem that I seen in Jungian vision of Introversion vs. Extrovertion dimension is that, for me, it seems very similar to the Intuition vs. Sensing dimension.
