Is anyone here on stimulants? I was on Dexedrine(dextroamphetamine, and Ritalin(methiphenidate) (not at the same time of course!) and i notice my anxiety is a lot less now, and i honestly cant see a difference in the concentration level i have. WHat do you think of them? I used to like them but since i stopped the dexedrine last week i feel a lot like myself.

i started taking stimulants this past summer and have been on the adderall, adderall xr, and concerta.

i think they are drugs, truly, not medications.

i have focus problems for sure, find it difficult to maintain interest and focus, never really have been able to read much.

when i first started, i started concerta and boy could i focus! it was great! i read two books id been meaning to read for a long time. this lasted about a week (the benefits in relation to focus).

so i was switched to adderall xr and experienced the same problem, but more slowly. in other words, the ability to focus also wore off.

i was switched to adderall and the focus returned, but began to wear off slowly as well.

the sad part is that i think the adderall might work if i dont take it everyday, which is what i mean by it being a drug. when taken consistently, i seem to build up a tolerance way too quickly.

im going to talk to my new psych about the idea, because it does have benefit. im not sure how keen he will be on the idea if presented honestly. but it helped me read a book that i wanted to read! im thankful for that and i suppose we shall see what happens next.
