How to find housing (in Salt Lake or anywhere) you trust...
I am about to move to the South Salt Lake City area for a job... and I can't for the life of me figure out how I am going to handle housing. I have a few days, then it will have to be hotels until I can get permanent housing (which will cost a lot... fast) as I need to be there in a week. There are no single room apartments that will even remotely work, and after my history... I am hesitant to try finding a roommate by myself on any sort of classifieds website (it's a hard thing in the best of situations... and being a somewhat naive and gullible autistic just makes it so much harder). I would like it if I could receive a bit of help in doing it... making sure I don't get taken advantage of...but it seems that when you are mildly disabled things like that become so much harder as I don't need services and everyone thinks that means I am totally okay by myself. I am a trained respite/hab provider, so I would even be willing to help if I got placed with another autistic... but that seems like such a longshot. Any advice or suggestions that might work, I need housing like now... and I would hate to pass up on this job opportunity as it is the best I have gotten since graduating over 3 years ago (still underemployed... but with room for advancement at least).
