I cannot read things that too long or 2 or more pages long if it tooo long, I won’t understand it & I can forget what I’m reading, it will hurt my head too trying to understand it, everything feels like it scrambles in my head & it can be toooo much. I have more trouble proofreading what I write on Facebook or here & other places,I’m having trouble, cuz of my speech.

Do anyone have trouble reading? I believe it because of my Aspergers, stress, Dyslexia & Cerebral Pasly.

I don't have the degree of difficulty you describe but I do have some problems with reading. I am a very slow reader. I find it quite difficult to maintain my focus on the actual sentence I am reading at any particular moment. My focus tends to drift away to another part of the page or screen and I suddenly realise I have missed out a large part of the text.

I also have a problem with constantly seeing patterns in the actual letters and words. Strong diagonal patterns always grab my attention as do paragraphs which contain a lot of long words making them look very dense. Sometimes the patterns of text almost seem to be in motion on the page or screen.

Despite that I do enjoy reading. I just have to go very slowly and methodically. Most of my knowledge about the things I enjoy comes from books and if I have spent a lot of money on a book I like to spend a lot of time with it anyway.

I can read technical or other boring stuff if I have an immediate application. However, it is painfully difficult without a motive. Reading fiction for entertainment presents little difficulty.

I can see that as a child I had a reading difficulties but was just diagnosed so as an adult. As I child I was taught during a test-taking course to start by reading the first and last sentences of a paragraph for the main idea. Why start that way, finish that way! I read a lot, but now I can see I often stop after a short bit like you said, or I skip parts (not consciously), sometimes I go back and reread. My ASD assessor suggested that during work meetings, when material is presented that I need to understand, I say "just give me a minute to read this". Typically I try to bluff my way through, or wait for a pause later to catch up. I suspect I am mildly dyslexic but my assessor said "no". (I reverse consonant sounds and compound words often.)
