Hello,

I have been given permission by Alex via email to recruit participants for my research study here.

My name is Benjamin Walser, and I am conducting a study under the auspices of the University of Tulsa. This study is designed to provide greater understanding of the career interests of individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS), which is needed in order to promote greater understanding amongst educators and employers. This will benefit those with AS by making it easier for them to find and maintain employment that is a good “fit.” I am seeking adults (age 18 and above) with AS to participate in this study.

The study questionnaire contains items from the Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ), Multidimensional Emotional Intelligence Assessment (MEIA), and Career Directions Inventory (CDI). The estimated completion time is approximately 60 minutes. Your participation in the study will be kept strictly confidential.

In return for completing the questionnaire, you will receive a CDI report (a $30 value) showing your personalized career interest results, as well as a $10 Amazon.com gift card if you are among the first 200 participants.

hello just finished your survey it was a long one

some things I noticed
a typo in
13.2 People sometimes sell me I look mad when I am not.

and this one is a double question
15.2 When someone asks me how I feel, I have to think about it a while before answering. I enjoy watching children open up birthday presents.

Dang, that is one LONG test.

its actually not that long its just how its broken up and how the percentage thing pretty much lies to you when you do the select 3 questions it jumps by a lot

Is this survey open to adults with classic autism as well?

Done. That was kind of long. I noticed some questions from various tests I took before, but the later sections were unique. I had a hard time with that last section, because a lot of the responses were equally as good or terrible.

There were also a few questions that would be answered one way or another depending on the situation.

Interesting survey. What is a CDI report exactly?

I did it too. Sometimes none of the choices appealed to me and I had difficulty choosing which was worse or better than the others.

I am in the UK, I would take the test too but need to know do you email a gift certificate code or do you send a physical gift card and if so, would you send to the UK? I can use it on the Amazon.com website as I buy birthday gifts for a friend who lives in America so it doesn't matter if it's not an Amazon.co.uk one. (Also is your test open to UK people?)

I'm confused by this question:

Why would someone who's crying be angry? People cry when they're sad, or rarely when they're happy, but they don't cry when they're angry. They yell or swear, or else get really quiet and unresponsive.

Anyway I chose strongly disagree, because I'd know they had to be sad, not angry.

I think these are supposed to be two different questions:

I cry when I am angry sometimes. But, then again, for me, anger is usually more "frustration," which gets lumped in to the all-encompassing "overwhelming," which I often respond to by crying.

Oh. And I took the test. Seemed okay. For the "two questions in one" mess-up, I just answered it as though it were only the first question. (ignoring the children and birthday presents part)

Were we supposed to get the gift card and results via email? I took it last night and haven't gotten anything.

I think we have to wait for the data to be compiled or something
