Do you visualise something?
What goes on in your mind?

I see an image of a cat. Actually it was a simple cartoonish drawing of a cat, for some reason.

Then I thought about the T-shirt worn by Donald in this comic: http://www.darklegacycomics.com/

I see a picture of a cat, usually either a tabby cat or my cat who is all black.

A concept. From the word "Cat", associations explode into whiskers, fur, body movements, eyes squeezed shut, bouncing up and down the hallway, tickle of whiskers, pounce, sleep, the feel of the muscle under the fur, hiding in small spaces, basking in the sun, stretching forward to investigate...

All those things are part of "cat" and part of other things. So "cat" is not a single thing, but a nexus of concepts, an intersection of many strands on a web.

A cat sniffing something. It's not a vivid picture. I also can vaguely taste something like the way they smell.

What comes to mind is the entire concept of cat. It's all there all at once and I get to pick and choose what mental video of catness I play in my head or even several at once or in rapid succession. Or I just stay poised at the threshold of cat concept ready to explore any avenue of cat memories or anything related to cats.

I immediately think of a cat. A photographic like image where the centre is perfectly focused and the outside kind of fades to black. Specifically it's my neighbours ginger cat, then i think about what i can feed him / her tomorrow, this cat doesn't really trust me but I've been feeding it tiny pieces of salmon from my sandwiches and we seem to have developed a stronger relationship, now I'm thinking if the neighbours would be angry about this or if I have made the cat sick at all.

I usually think of a random cat, usually in a standing pose.

I wonder why you're saying the word cat and look around for anything catlike that triggered it.

This. With many images of cats I have known and loved interspersed. The cats who used to sleep on the rafters above my bed when I was an infant. My first pet, a white Tom who beat up neighborhood dogs. My father's favorite cat, "Emma," and her long curved whiskers. My tabby cat who ran off and is now missing. The cat I used to give IV fluid to after she was poisoned. Different cats eyes, whiskers, paws, tails. Big cats--mountain lions, tigers, snow leopards in a documentary from the Himalayas.

I see my cat. Or I get a phantom feeling like a cat on my lap.
