Has anybody with nvld gone for psychotherapy? Was it helpful or was the fact that nvld is a neurologically based disorder make it difficult to make changes? What kind of psychotherapy was it?

My adolescent daughter has been working with a very good cognitive behavioral therapist--it's slow going, but it's helping. The trick is to find someone sensitive to to the thought patterns and emotional reactions of someone with nvld. Hope you can find someone to help.

I had psychotherapy for a few years, not specifically for having AS but trauma related issues - it helped me a lot. The most important thing is to get the right therapist, one who is fully clued up on neurological issues - some are not! And acredited. It can take a few goes to get the right one, but it is worth it.
