Ive been dx for about a year, though concluded I was ignorant. A year later and a few months of Ritalin All the aspie characterisics are standing out alot more. The big part is the realisation, the relief in some senses but back to the point.

I'm starting to believe my few close friends and even family are somewhat ASD. I'm uncertain whether this is just a delusion since my brain works like a statistician - with all the info it can present how it likes.

What I'm wondering is, is this common among others? My good mate is schitzoid, another has an autistic child and so does another. And then theres my parents. I can never tell whether its my overanalytical brain pumping out paranoias/anxieties for just not knowing.

The universe is f**king with me this week . First week back into the education system, huge social funtion And my Cog Therapist is sick.

But as we all know - seek and ye internet shall find.

My best friend is more NT than anyone I have ever met in my whole life, so much so that I have to have time out from her. She really helps me keep on track though otherwise I think I would die. I have never known any other AS people until I came to wrong planet, it's not really something I look out for.

Well, there was a study, can't remember link, that found neurodiversity in people with mental illness as well. As an aspie, it's probably not likely you'd get along with NT's, simply because our brains are different. There are, of course, exceptions. However, because of that, your friends are probably going to be neurodiverse. And, since it seems to have a geneti basis, their parents then would probably be neurodiverse as well; and your parents too.

Just my thought x-x

Friend one is definitely undiagnosed AS
Friend two is a NT who has a couple of AS traits but not even close to BAP.

Only an appropriately-trained and licensed mental-health professional is qualified to give a valid diagnosis. As far as I know, there are no WP members who fit that description. Certainly no one on WP is capable of rendering a valid diagnosis from a few biased sentences in a single post on a social website without actually meeting and examining the subjects in question personally and over an extended period of time.

This is completely aside from the fact that "Asperger's Syndrome" is no longer an official diagnosis under DSM-V.
