I think asperger people,on average, despise "reality" TV more then normals. I don't care about the personal details of people I do not know. I remember a quote (unfortunately I cannot remember who said it), " there are 3 types of people. 1. Those that talk about things (cars, home improvements etc). 2. Those that talk about people. 3. And finally the best. Those that talk about ideas."
I loved "Science Digest " because it talked about amazing ideas. Unfortunately, it was replaced by "Discover" that concentrated on the life style and personality of the scientist. Similarly, I loved the History channel until it became all about what stupid (but charming) thing Chummly would say next.
My poll question is, have you ever attacked a person's argument that was on your side? Most internet debates split the posters into two camps. Do you side with the person more then intellectual curiosity?
Unfortunately, the poll question is too long for where it belongs. Here is the full version," Have you ever pointed out an error in a poster's argument whose position you agree with?"

I remember receiving a compliment. The person said,"you never gossip about people." I responded," there is nothing noble about that. I'm a self centered SOB (arnt we all?). Why would I want to talk about anyone except me?" :D

Don't worry. Hitler was in the same position and 10 years later he became the most popular person in Germany!
PS: Just my aspie socially inappropriate humor. :D I am not calling you Hitler like or that Hitler was a cool guy (He was obviously evil, duh!). My point is that success has little to do with inferiority or superiority. Hitler was rich and enormously popular. Jesus was almost universally hated (his crucifixion was welcomed by most). Now, who is the better man?

I find myself doing this all the time for two main reasons. First, I greatly dislike poor argumentation and the use of logical fallacies. I tend to find that they shut down conversation more than anything else. Secondly, I also do so because presenting poor arguments actually weakens your case overall. After all, if I am consistently presented with ridiculous arguments, what am I to conclude other than that they are coming from a ridiculous person? And who takes ridiculous people seriously?
