Anyone???

Very visual and have very vivid dreams in both picture and text. Think my mom is an aspie and taught me to read the aspie way in pictures and without formal English rules. Can be spatial at times but in the working environment not so much.

Pardon my ignorance.

What does NVLD stand for?

Edit:

Never mind. Looked it up. I've heard the term used but it didn't stay with me.

Odd thing is the webpage I found gave a description...and that sounds more like me than some of what I've read about Asperger's.

You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

What would these results mean? Been told here I must be a "half pint".

See my edit above.

The webpage said NVLD and Asperger's seem to have some overlap. I got that as meaning in some cases at least, either term could be accurate ways of describing the same person.

I have both, or NLD that was coded into the DSM as Asperger's by my Psychiatrist since NLD is not in the DSM.

Here is an excerpt from an article on the subject. Click on the link to read the entire article:

Quote:
Studies conducted by the Yale Child-Study Group suggest that up to 80% of children who meet the criteria for AD [Asperger's Disorder] also have NVLD. While there are no studies on overlap in the other direction, most likely children with the more severe forms of NVLD also have AD.

Aspergers Disorder and Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities: How Are These Two Disorders Related to Each Other?

NVLD is like the old Asperger's diagnosis (DSM-IV-TR) minus the routines.
