I did a bit of local-County jail time recently,for being homeless offense.s
Specifically, getting camping tickets that I could not pay whicheventually turned into getting arrested and a pushed upon me agreement to stay completel;y away from the downtown of this town.which, violating,I got jail time for-And still may have more from that as well as from some older being homeless tickets in another county.
Does anybody else who's done so wanna talk? This could include "more serious" jug time than just non-violent/county time as well
Someone in my bloc who,in his normal life, boarded w/a family w/a 21 year old Aspie son said that when he first saw me in the block before I'd spoken to him let alone abouit being an Aspie thought to himself that I looked Aspie-and I am,about,2&1/2 times the age of his housemate!
I suppose playing up the Aspie/"mildly nutty"-ness in my image helped me in jail,I didn't experience any serious physical hur :) t... :)

...Yeah,and considering that I'm thinking of provoking getting arrested again and being sent back,so I may receive medical care(To an extent,"indirect" medical care but medical care nonetheless)...

I would probably kill myself if I was facing long jail time

Was in the city jail as a troubled teen,it was loud 24/7,I was in a cell by myself since I was a juvenile. There were also giant cockroaches and a pervy jailer. Most of the cops were actually nice, they felt sorry for me,maybe because I was a girl. They brought me junk food and snuck me cigarettes. And they got rid of that jailer. One cop was rather weird, but he was also really young.Maybe had a thing for bad girls. The food sucked, but what can you expect,it is jail.I hope to never go back.
State Hospital is better than jail, try for there. At least from my experience. And they used to have dental care, don't know if that's true today. The one I was at had no fence, and there was a liquor store across the street.Sometimes things got lively.

It's not significant, but as a consequence of my actions during my psychotic episode when I was 14, I spent an hour in a juvenile hall cell. It kinda sucked. Initially, I was alone, but then this other kid was brought in and sat down. We didn't say anything to each other. At one point, I came and looked out the window but was yelled at to sit down by one of the staff. Eventually, I was released and was glad to be back in the hospital.

Jail/prison is probably my biggest fear.

Miss and bene,I really have hated "theraputic" types and hospitals-I rather liked the straightforwardness of being in jail,of course,I grant it was sort of a "nice" (realatively)"progressive/soft" jail situation .

While I'm too much a rule follower to get into any legal trouble, it does puzzle me that anyone, anywhere would choose life in prison over a death sentence unless it was a country club like setting. Obviously neither is a good thing but it's a no brainer to me. and would not want to live knowing I would never see the light of day. Any more than a day or two in a jail or prison would be nothing short of unbearable for me and I would rather take my own life than end up in such a place for an extended period of time. As I see it, I could choose between going crazy in isolation or going crazy surrounded by people with the mentality of skunk apes (just like Junior high all over again). School for me was almost intolerable I can't imagine what a prison sentence would be like. I used to have nightmares about this all the time as a child. At least once that bell rang I was released daily!

Needless to say, if I were ever in jail it nobody anywhere would say I was "too mild" to be called Autistic!

I was accosted by a guy 'wanting to borrow my car'. A fight ensued, and I called the cops. They saw the other guy with a hammer in his hand and blood streaming down his face and arrested him immediately. Then the cops supervisor said to arrest me as well. That sort of pissed me off, as I defended myself which I thought was allowed and I called THEM. Spent one night in the county jail, didn't eat, as I can't eat anything with wheat, didn't sleep, as there were forty guys stuffed into a cell and I need meds to sleep which they wouldn't let me have.

Got out the next day, but never went to court because the prosecutor lost the paperwork and the statute of limitations passed so charges had to be dropped. Now I have to pay about 100.00 to get the arrest expunged. The other guy went to court, and since I wasn't there because I was in jail they dropped his charges and he was free to go.

I have a contingency plan if I ever get arrested again, and I'll just leave it at that.

if you can hold out a few more months, Medicaid will be expanded to cover you if you are not already covered.

I was lucky they didn't put me in the clink. I was just in the office only waiting for my parents to come and get me.

No, I have an aversion to courts, lawyers, cops and the legal system in general. I'd rather stay as far away as possible from any entanglements with the legal system. Getting arrested, especially for something I didn't do, is a huge fear of mine, worse than even spiders.
