I was always the tallest in my class at school until puberty at age 10. It was the only thing there that I was proud of. As an adult I am of average stature (5'6") Wondering about others on this one.javascript:emoticon(':?:')

Before middle school, which is when I hit puberty, I was usually the tallest girl in my class. Additionally, I got all of my adult teeth at an early age, so I got to wear braces (which I badly needed) by the age of 11. The doctors all said I would grow to about 5'9" - 5'11", but for some reason, I didn't grow past 5'7". I wish I had grown taller. I know that a lot of tall girls feel self-conscious about their height, but during the years when I was tall for my age, I took pride in it.

I was always tall for my age. Only a few other kids my age were taller than me.

Perfectly average height. On the small side in early infancy but I don't think that counts.

I was always a few inches taller than most of my peers. That is still true today, unfortunately.

I was the shortest person in my class-- it wasn't until junior high that I overtook one of the girls in height.

I was ALWAYS small. I'm 5ft 1in. right now. My proportions are very small too: Small shoulders, small head, small hands, small feet, short legs. The only large thing about me is my nose.

I was always really tiny for my age, until I hit puberty. When I was 8-12, I was one of the tallest in my year. But, I stopped growing at 12, at 5'4" (average), but I'm small built with little hands and feet.

My 6yr old daughter is particularly tall for age (top 2%, tallest in her class, yet one of the youngest). I'm a little concerned that she might go into an early puberty, then end up as a short adult. But, she has always been tall, no pubescent growth spurt. Although, her feet and hands are getting really big, which is a first sign. Any more signs and we'll be visiting the doc to see if we can delay it a bit (which I know they do for early puberty).

Yes, I was very tall for my age; as a result, I had a problem approximating the ages of children for a long time, because when I look at my kindergarten photos, I'm nearly as tall as my 11-year-old brother (average height) is now! My niece seems like a 2-year-old to me, but she's nearly 4, and the appropriate height for her age.

Anyway, I was the tallest until around 12, then I stopped growing. I was 5'4 in 6th grade, and am still that height.

I was average for my age before puberty. After puberty, I grew slowly until I was 23, and I am 5'9".

I was super tall compared to all my peers in elementary school, plus I was the first to hit puberty. Everything changed when I went to 6th grade. I used to be told that I look older than my age, but now I'm 5'1" and I've been told I look like my 12-year-old cousin's little sister. I'm 15 and in 9th grade. Kind of sad actually...
