I am very frustrated at moment because it seems my whole life I have needed support if it is at school or anywhere else. At the moment I am needing yet more support to get into employment

I want to live a life where I get my own self control and not having to have people take care of me

The thing is my anxiety/ emotions are really hard for me to control which is making it harder for me to function. I have OCD and phobias :(

Is there anyway I can get more control over my life and stop letting people dominating it all the time? At the moment the people at my local job centre are yet again taking control over what I do :( I am 23 years old.

Could you say how you think they are trying to control you?

Also you didn't say what you needed support with and how that leads to no control over your life. If you give some more info I think it would be easier for me to give a useful response (if I can do that all).

I need support to get into employment because of discrimination etc.... that and mental health problems might make it hard for me to hold down a job :(

I'm not sure how you can deal with discrimination really as I don't know how you could show that an employer discriminated against you (even if there is someone who can help with the legal aspect of that i don't know).

But when you say holding a job down you mean keeping it in the long term right? You could consider temporary work because not only are employers more readily willing to hire for temp jobs but they are shorter term and any work is better than no work on your CV. It might mean you end up bouncing to different jobs or you get really short contracts that aren't productive in terms of getting good money but if you get temp work you could search for other temp jobs (like mad just go for everything) when your contract is nearing it's end. You're more likely to be taken on by someone when already in work by far and with any luck you could get another temporary job as one is running out (and just explain to them when your contract ends). That seems like a longshot and probably is because it's so hard for anyone to get work, but if that's something you could deal with (or with getting a temp job and having to go back to the jobcentre after) then maybe that's for you.

Do you know about Connexions? they offer free advise on pretty much anything for anyone, for me that was up to the age of 25 as I was in special needs school, maybe you could get some free independent advise from them (rather than the jobcentre just bossing you around).
