autism or not its difficult for anyone to sleep in a room and bed theyre not regulary used to and have other people in the room, although they dont have other people in the room, the sleep in support staff here always say they get very little sleep because theyre not used to it.
autism just makes the issues stronger.
most people struggle to sleep during hot nights as well from what have seen, we have several nigerian staff here who are heat mad and cannot stand the cold but keep it hot and humid at night and they wont sleep and get pissed off with everyone.
try bringing some good ear plugs and anything that might make the bed area more like bedroom at home, such as the same quilt are used to.
if he snores, throw something like a cushion at him,or have some fun and use a marker pen to draw on his face-if have got to be awake; may as well have a reason,at least am the type who does that sort of sht whilst laughing away to self anyway.
am not able to stay anywhere that is not in regular routine, have got to have long transitions, visits,a private bedroom and PECS schedules of the route we will be walking to it,and drag most of bedroom along in bin bags whenever am in hospital inpatients for teeth or EEG check ups, dont understand how anyone can go in unusual/new environments and enjoy it.
