If they just came out with a cure for aspergers, would you want to be cured or not??

How about, NO.

How about changing them into us we recharge by been alone hell think how good that is a rechargeable batterie that is portable than one you need to plug into the wall, I think we would make great snipers lol Wonder if any are Introverted people, probably are the ones who lay for weeks...

If any snipers are here, I mean snipers not back yard people - whats your personality type?

Well I don't even have a DX. But then they'd have to GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK TYVM.

I would wear a t-shirt: 25 years of AS and all I got was this lousy shirt.

I think it's the intolerant attitude towards people with AS which needs to be cured rather than AS. So no.

I'd say the same thing about the intolerant attitude Aspies have towards NT's, but Aspies are a lot more affected by these type of attitudes.

you cant cure aspergers as its our personality and it makes us unique but if the bad symtoms were curable then i would defenetly agree with it, i'm kind of getting annoyed by how much this post is being brought back though

I agree with everyone. There are some things I would like to work on, but I would not change the more positive aspects of AS. I would like to conquer my nervousness in certain situations while keeping my good memory, knowledge of facts and good vocabulary.

NO! It's the NT's who are bonkers & need to be cured! There's nothing wrong with me. Left-handedness (which I also am) used to be considered (& in many cultures still) is considered to be a defect. 'They' tried all sorts of nonsense to 'cure' that too. Can you imagine what a cure would look like? Neurotic 'normal' pills? Non, merci!

I'll keep it simple:

Nada, Zilch, Nope!

I couldn't imagine myself without these little intricacies which makes me "different".

I have nothing positive with my AS.
If I had the option to get rid of it...I would in a split second.

Mine isn't about being smart or talented, above and beyond.
Those are both well inherited from both sides of my family.

I'm actually the "slow" one. and I have an above average IQ lol.

My AS is all the bad stuff. All of which I've spent a lifetime trying to hide, avoid, ignore and bury.
With no success.

I have alienated, isolated, and irritated to the point of having no friends, and one family member in my life.

I do, however, have an awesome dog

How about not? Yes, I will admit that AS has its share of problems, but it also has its distinct advantages. If I did not have the characteristic traits of AS that I have, I would be a different person; I would not be myself.

The only part of a cure I would be willing to even consider saying "yes" to is something to help with the problem of sensory overload and the problems associated with that.
