I am very good with eye contact and have no problem at all with it. It feels natural and fine to me. Is anyone else very comfortable with it?

I generally don't have an issue with eye contact. I sometimes avert my gaze if I'm feeling really nervous, but I've never understood the extreme discomfort that some people on the spectrum experience when making eye contact. It comes naturally to me as well.

Some days are better than others, but I can't call eye contact natural at all. I can handle fleeting contact usually, and then look away. Sometimes I come across people who "chase" eye contact..that's when it really gets awkward.

It feels fairly natural with my immediate family, a long-term partner, and anyone when I'm drunk.

But otherwise, no.

I tend to drill people's eyes out.

Sorry, I don't understand. I actually got a visual of you holding an actual drill and going at it, pretty gruesome and gorey! But I am pretty sure that could not possibly be what you meant!

I meant to say that my eyes sometimes are seen as shooting laser beams into the other party's eyes, due to the intensity of my gaze. just look at me in my avatar photo, you can see what i'm talking about. it has been described as a mesmeric stare.

Oh, I do see it in your pic if I look closely. Well that is definitely much better than you carrying a hand drill around and literally drilling people's eyes out! LOL!!

By the way AuntBlabby, I very much like the jacket you are wearing in that pic. I keep looking at the pattern.

thank you :) yes, I found it in the seattle goodwill store, amongst the bland browns and blacks and grave grays and greens on the rack, it just stood out, practically shouting at me LOOK AT ME! BUY ME! RESCUE ME FROM THE IGNOMINY OF THIS PLACE! and so I did. :) it is a blue/green paisley pattern. sorry I don't have a better pic that I can post right now.

It's lovely. It is amazing what great finds you can rescue from second hand stores! No worries about not having a better pic. I can see it quite well.
