What a harrowing story, though. :pale:

I wonder if this has anything to do with the supposed genetic link between autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and ADD.

If it is of any consolation, getting regular exercise, reducing meat, sugar, and artificial flavoring consumption (especially the artificial sugars), and eating (naturally) colorful fruits and vegetables, especially "greens," has been shown to help prevent cancer (http://www.lewrockwell.com/2011/06/joseph-mercola/12-steps-for-natural-cancer-prevention/).

Unless you happen to have this particular mutation, I wouldn't worry.

Any given mutation linked to autism is generally only present in a small proportion of autistics.

Of course any sort of scan also risks causing or increasing your risks of developing cancer too.
I think in some cases it is better not to know.
