Do you ever have those night where your brain just won't settle down?

I had one of those nights last night. Anyways, I lay thinking about the upcoming school year. The visualizations started rolling and before I knew it, it was 3:30 in the morning.

Don't you just hate those kinds of nights that throws your sleep cycle way off, especially just after you've gotten back into a cycle.

The last time I had a sleepless night was on New Year's. I didn't sleep AT ALL. :?

Yeah, can be pretty inconvenient.

Could try drinking a bit of hot-milk before you go to bed. Not too much though, otherwise you'll be running to the toilet throughout the night. Could also try reading in bed, I find this especially useful.

The past 2 nights have been bad for me, and so was last Friday.

About 2 weeks ago, so much was going thru my head at once, and I was almost shaky I was so nervous? Nervous about what? Not a clue, my body just gives me the nervous feeling sometime. I did everything that relaxes me over several hours (shower, play video games) and I would not relax. I had to take an anti-anxiety pill around 9pm (I hate taking pills) and it didn't kick in til around 1am. Needless to say, I was rather out of it the following day at work.

When i was in primary school i had problems to fall asleep almost every night, i started thinking the things i would have to do the next day and i just couldn't stop my brain. This often went on until 4 in the morning. Now this only happens sometimes, but i often wake up already tired, i guess my brain works too much during the night. My mother (aspie, 50 years old) has the same problem but more severe, i hope it won't be the same for me when i will be 50.

I suffer this quite frequently. It's especially hard to regulate when you work all sorts of shifts like I do as well. I'm just used to having a crappy, irregular sleep pattern now.

I usually get only 3-4 hours of sleep, because I try to cram as many activities as I can in a certain amount of time.

I do.

I spend a lot of time just thinking about random things. Once I figure out that once I can't fall asleep, it's time to get out the sleep meds (er Valerian Root.)

I just wish I COULD sleep! Tried Lunesta, Ambien, and the like, well maybe not the one that the beaver and Abe Lincoln are selling, but I am sure they won't work well either for me.

The only thing that works is a cup of Chamomile Tea, a drop of Clary Sage Essential oil and Lavender Essential Oil at bedtime on my pillow or in a diffuser. I cannot use much of the Clary Sage as it causes some WILD dreams...I normally dream in black and white, but when I have these near my bed I dream in Technicolor! 8O

Maybe meditation or a mindmachine could be an option. I find these also to be VERY effective.

I do and they're less frequent than they used to be. I wound up pulling an all nighter this past Sunday, and going into work in spite of it. The last time that happened was back in September.
