Last may I read some bogus crap about how a comet was going to slam into the earth and kill everyone in June. The whole thing started on some BS message board with all types of conversation on stuff like that. Seemed very convincing. It made May and Early June hell for me. I just didn't want to do anything anymore. I was panicing constantly and was in one of the most depressed states ever. Nothing happened.

Now it is Spring again 4 days away from my 18th birthday and I am starting to worry that something like that is going to happen again and for this time it will be real. I am uncontrolably obscessing over it. I try to tell myself that its all a bunch of BS, not to worry, etc but it never works. I try to forget about it but it always comes back.

Anybody know what I can do about this? I don't know why but this stuff always seems to happen in spring.

I blamed it on a stuffed toy that I got around that time. I haven't gone near it since because it seems as if everytime I so much as touch it something terrible happens to me within days after doing so.

I like stories about comets hitting the earth, and movies about them.

I'd keep away from that stuffed toy, though, it sounds dangerous.

Laying off the caffeine always works for me. That stuff makes me really paranoid, nervous, hyper, etc.

Maybe it's the season, I get winter depressions.

I usually drink nothing but bottled water. But as of recent I have been drinking a lot of diet coke/diet pepsi. Maybe the caffeine has to do with it.

Yes caffeine will make you think more, just not more rationally. Trust me, whenever I drink any caffeine I always have irration nightmares... and it sounds like you are just being made hyper over it. Just cut the coke out of your diet (entirely!) and ignore all that mombo jumbo about the world ending... if the place doesn't blow up in 2012, then you have nothing to worry about. I always just suspected the Mayan calendar makers of tiring of writting calanders hundreds/thousands of years into the future. God knows I would stop making calendars at some point.

go out and do things and enjoy life the best you can, then when you goto bed ask your self if you enjoyed the day and the moments and then tell your self that even if tomorrow never comes you at least enjoyed today.

I remember the buzz on the internet from spring 2003 when planet X was suppose to pass with in a few hundred thousand miles of earth and it's immense gravitational pull would destroy earth by violently whipping earth on it's side so the sun in the northern hemisphere would rise in the north instead of the east - and in the process kill all life on earth!

Never happened...

Relax! It's strange that it always happens in the spring. I'm thinking it's a bit of paranoia. A lot of people obsess over these sorts of things. How do you think supermarket tabloids (not the ones about celebrities, the ones that talk about the end of the world) stay in business?
