Not sure if I have asperger's syndrome, please help!
Hi, I'm not sure if I have asperger syndrome and need some advice.
I have taken multiple autism/aspie test eg AQ and scored extremely low (I think I got 10 on the AQ test)
However, I have been diagnosed with dyslexia (heard it can be linked) and I have noticed that I do have some autistic traits which seem pretty clear to me. (unsure of where my hands should be when sitting on a bus for example)
I am also OCD which I think extends from a large amount of anxiety, for example, even thought I know my OCD is silly I do things (touching objects an even amount of times) so something bad does not happen.
I have also (for as long as I can remember) had a hard time making friends. I have had friends in the past but I find it something I have struggled with compared to other people I come across. I seem to find it hard to strike up conversation and keep it flowing successfully.
My brother also has some autistic traits although doctors aren't sure what it is exactly with him, but I am aware genetics play a large part in autism)
This is something I have been worried about for a long time now, I recently brought it up with a doctor who struck it down straight away.

It's always possible but you haven't mentioned anything that would tip most of us off in terms of ASD diagnoses. I'm not entirely opposed to armchair diagnosis as I'm aware it may be the best validation some people ever get, but in a case such as yours I'd be looking for anecdotal proof, which is a difficult thing to work with anyway. Dylan's right that over thinking something that marginally affects you probably won't help you socially.

I have no idea.
I am not sure if I have an ASD myself. All I know is that people are weird. It's probably them and not me lol. They have wobbly logic and weird ways of thinking (If only my problems with socialising etc didn't keep following me around everywhere I go, then I might actually be able to carry on believing that).
If it's any consolation at all (and I doubt it is) I have not had a real like platonic friend in 20 years. I don't really do girly packs and all that.
Right now I am more into sharks than shoes and I wish I hadn't linked to a jaws ride (based on the movie) and then to a theme park review about roller coasters because now I want to go and ride one. As it is midnight and riding a roller coaster is not possible right now (they have a scooby ride at one theme park in Australia, I want to ride on it...I used to love scooby. I had to watch him at the same time each day apparently or my mum said I would have a 'tantrum from hell'..her words not mine), then I shall head to bed to watch Jaws instead.
Hope you get answers.
I am probably just weird...most people seem to think i am so it may just be possible.
