It's terrible to hear that you're suffering like this
Are there any sounds that really help you to relax? Rain? The ocean? a humming? I really relax to the sound of a tumble dryer or a hair dryer so I have these sounds recorded on a loop... maybe you could put headphones on for bed and listen to a sound that relaxes you? Apart from this I really don't know what to suggest. I do think that knit's suggestion to buy a weighted blanket is a good one. It's true that if you're already sleeping off the floor and use extra blankets underneath you as insulation you are probably doing all you can to minimize the vibrations that way but a weighted blanket could really have such a soothing and calming effect on your body that you notice the noises/vibrations less. I hope you find something that works for you!

I can relate to this. I have a first-floor apartment with an uninsulated drop ceiling (basically, it is just my neighbor's subflooring, then about 8 inches of airspace and the paper-thin tiles) that allows me to hear much more than I want from upstairs. And, when my neighbors walk around, it sounds like bombs going off. (I know it sounds like I'm being melodramatic, but it's really bad. It makes my furniture shake.) Plus, next door, I have a 24-hour towing business, with large trucks pulling in and then making that high-pitched 'beep, beep, beep' when they back out at all hours of the night.

Anyway, I was looking into what I could do to reduce transmission of sound into my apartment, through insulation and various soundproofing supplies. There are a lot of good products out there, but it is not a cheap project to do, if you are going to do it effectively, and I hate the idea of investing a lot in someone else's property. (I mean, if my landlord will even be willing to allow me to soundproof). So, I guess I'll have to see how desperate I get.
