Literally Interpreting Test Questions
So I was taking the aspie quiz again the other night. And...
Question #1 Do you interpret things literally.
I don't have any problems understanding idioms, I get when people are using hyperbole. When I was little there a lot implied meanings that went over my head, but that is just part of being a kid. So No. answer=0
Question #2 Are your eyes extra sensitive to strong light and glare?
Well I am definitely sensitive to glare and strong light. I believe the lights on police cars are a public hazard at night because they are so bright and overhead lights are annoying etc. So I know I am sensitive to light, but I can tolerate it if I have too. I am then not sure that I qualify as extra sensitive. answer=1, a little
Question #3 Do you often don't know where to put your arms?
During social situations I can find it difficult to know where to place my arms. However, I do not socialize often, and when I do I actively avoid situations where I won't know where to put my arms. So considering all of this it is not often that I do not know where to put my arms. answer=1
At this point I start getting annoyed. I always find it frustrating that on every multiple choice test I have taken, there is never an answer that is 100% correct. I am also getting very confused about how to interpret a lot of questions on the aspie quiz. I answer 1 (a little) more frequently than 2 (yes/often). I have a revelation and realize that placing so much emphasis on every single word in the question, could be what is meant by "literally interpret"
Would you consider what I was doing as "literally interpreting"?
Based on my reasoning what answers do you think I should have put?
After reconsidering I decided I should have answered
#1. 1
#2. 2
#3. 2
