I understand dry humor as well. LIkely because my dad, and the uncles & aunts on his side of the family, all had very dry senses of humor (they're 2nd gen. Irish-Americans, for context.) I also have several data points indicating that ASD was rampant on that side of the family. I wonder if there's a correlation.
But, since making people laugh was an easy in-road to acceptance, I studied comedy fairly diligently. I can now also do (and understand) absurd, observational & misdirection humor. I still don't get/appreciate the slapstick humor (The Three Stooges, etc.)
