I know that people with AS are not the most athletic people out there. I was wondering if there are any people with AS that do a sport? You don't have to classified as good because I do track and field and not very good. The sport can include extreme sports as well, If you see it in the Olympics, it a sport.

So are there any AS athletes out there?

I voted no because technically I don't play sports. I am however, an athlete. I'm a professional ballet dancer and have been fairly successful at that.

No, I hated P.E so much in school that now the word "sport" makes me shudder. Same with maths.

No sport whatsoever, however, I am beginning to consider stair-climbing for exercise purposes only. Climbed 1900 (up and down) stairs yesterday, despite the searing pain and worthlessness of it.

If there were four sports I would choose, they would be Capoeira, Parkour, Bartitsu and Tap Dancing. All very unique, but "oh, so interesting".

No I don't do any sports although I played 5 aside football a year ago if that counts but gave it up due to the poor sportsmanship and behaviour of other players + it stopped being fun.

I do however have pretty good co-ordination and have always been quite good at most sports except running because I have asthma.

I haven't participated in any sport since it was required in public (grammar) school. I have too many bad memories of being laughed at, harassed or beaten up because I didn't know the rules of any sport. How on earth are you supposed to know them if no one ever explains it to you?

I do Jujitsu, though mainly for self-defense purposes rather than enjoying 'sports'.

I can't stand team sports. I hated P.E. as well, and tended to skip the classes a lot in school. The teachers never noticed..

Not sure why you want to exclude sports that aren't in the Olympic sports but here are my qualifying sports;

Cycling and weight-lifting (lifetime best 275 lbs, weighing 185 lbs).

I ran up until about 5 years ago and clocked a lifetime best of 3 miles in 14 minutes as a 17 year old.

Can't run any more, all those years, pounding the roads in shoes that were little thicker than carpet slippers eventually took their toll.

I was also a competition swimmer (no relay events) until I went to University.

You will note that NONE of them are 'team sports' :wink:

I did row as a teenager, but I rowed at 'stroke', which is the guy at the front, meaning that everyone else in the boat followed me, so I don't really think of it as a team sport :!:

I did some martial arts that are in the Olympics as a kid, but nothing too serious.

Despite this I can be awefully clumsy with dropping things, knocking things over or spilling things :D

I'm trying to stick with my school's grueling rowing program. It's really tough.

I think rowing was the best all round sport that I ever played. It is tough; stick with it. :D

Rowing training included rowing on the river, rowing in the 'tank' (tank work), running and lifting.

I get the same leg work and aerobic exercise with my cycling and weight training takes care of the upper body.

Makes sense though, I don't think they train coordination. And how can you be AS? That doesn't make sense.

I do not play any sports, I do have a recurring interest where I may lift weights while thinking of my main interest though.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear;

You asked me how I can be AS and added that it doesn't make sense.

Why do you think that I can't be AS?
