What type of sense of humour do you have and do people tend to take you seriously?

I have a very self deprecating sense of humour because I am actually amused by myself sometimes. I can also be somewhat sarcastic at times too.

For example I can remember sending people 30 miles the wrong way up the motorway (literally sending them to Coventry) because I was giving directions at the time and didn't realise I was holding the map upside down.

As I like being in a moving vehicle and watching the scenery go by I was not upset by having taken a bit of a detour and found my error in map reading somewhat amusing (made me laugh much to the annoyance of everyone else in the car who wanted to get home apparently).

I now often joke about my inability to read maps due to my habit of reading them the wrong way round as a result of that event. Unfortunately I am the only one who gets the joke because everyone else just thinks I am being negative (I still can't help being amused by it though).

So what type of humour do you use and do people sometimes take you too seriously?

Sometimes people believe me when i tell them that Welsh has 69 words for "drizzle" :!:

My humour is deadpan or sarcastic - usually only I "get it".

I am very f*****g sarcastic and the rest of my humor usually makes reference to some s**t I've seen or heard somewhere (such as lines from movies or television shows) and they're so uncommon and specific that people rarely get it. Most of the time I try not to make jokes at all since they always fall flat.

Surreal/weird humor. This is a huge problem for me sometimes because some people actually believe me when it's obviously a joke. People genuinely believe now that I believe in a Shiba Inu god who created the universe with a camel. :?

Yes, I actually say things like this.
