Howdy,

I'm Kirsten, that gal who does Autism Talk TV with Alex, and all that jazz.

So I'm working on a book for autistic women (though it would be helpful for men too) on the topics of romance, relationships, sex, and all sorts of other fun stuff that's not usually addressed in detail in the autism community. I think that sex is a topic that is especially important, and especially *ignored* in the autism world, and my goal is to create a practical resource "by and for" autistics. The link below includes a longer explanation of the project. I've made up a basic survey that covers most of the topics I want to address, and that's where you guys come in.

The survey is pretty personal, but it's ALL anonymous. Though I will add a warning that many of the questions deal with potentially triggering topics (such as eating disorders and abuse). You are your own best judge, and if you feel yourself getting upset or triggered by any of the questions please don't feel obligated to do this if it makes you uncomfortable.

Basically, I'm looking to gather as many personal anecdotes and experiences from autistics as possible! And this isn't just for people in relationships, or who have been in a relationship before, or even have any interest in romance. I'm especially interested in hearing from asexual and/or aromantic autistics, and those with atypical sexual and gender identities. So please, the more the merrier!

Here is the link to the survey! ---> CLICK HERE

Thank you!! ! :D

I've just done the questionnaire, and while I think it was thought provoking, I would have liked to see questions on number of sex partners; or, in relationships, who was the one who initiated? Or more on gender stereotypes and our attitudes towards them.

I'd be interested to see how women answer with regards to whether or not date someone who's also on the spectrum.

I'd be interested to see how the whole project turns out!

while you do have a question that asks "how do you meet your romantic partners" it strikes me (and maybe I missed it) that there are degrees to this question that might be interesting to ask

a. differentiate between romantic and sexual
b. ask conditions under which you meet them (slightly different question)
c. ask WHO typically approaches WHOM.

Because to me that is the most fascinating aspect of the relationships I've had - and the most telling about my inclinations (the purpose of your questionaire and book, n'est ce pas?) - is that of the relationships I have had (+/- 5) the girl always approached ME (god knows why) and initiated and led it to a relationship.

Thanks for the question suggestions! I should add that this test is going to be updated regularly as I think of more questions, so keep posting your suggestions for what kinds of things I should be asking! :)
