Extremely busy crazy day.....
Hi guys.
Just want to share with you, the most exhausting day I had.
I hosted an event today, that I organised (6 months of prior planning) to take close to 30 people, to a local anual christmas concert.) For those NZ WPers, you should know what concert I'm talking about, and it gets packed, ever year, it probably attracts 100k+ people.
Well, I get everybody accounted for on the train, then only close to the destination, somebody tells me, they left about $20 worth of food behind at the train station. I volunteered, to go back and get it.
After spending about 45 mins at the train station, in extreme heat, I get on the train. Thankfully I phoned my parents, and I asked them, to go look and see if they could see the food, and report back to me.
Well, I was more than halfway back to the station, when one of my parents phoned me, and told me the food had been picked up by a homeless guy.
Back on the train I go.
We finally get there, and the other people, had been fantastic, and they set up, and kept an eye on things, while I was gone.
We got there approx 5 hours, before the start of the show, to catch up, and have an afternoon picnic, apart from it being extremely hot, that went smoothly, and I can't really find anything to moan about there.
After the show started, the place where we sat, was absolutley terrible, while you could see the stage clearly, without visual aids, people kept on walking past, and blocking the view (Something that annoyed me, as the others were reluctant to move, and were happy where they were), so halfway through the show, I decided, I would give my video camera to a friend of mine, who was sitting right on the other side of the stage (Something, which involved me going for a fairly short, but time consuming walk, because the paths were so narrow, and everybody was so cramped together, I felt worse, than a sardine, and to make matters worse, you could hadly move, you were so stuck together, and people were openly smoking cigarettes, leaving plenty of others to breathe in, all their second hand smoke.
After I almost arrived, at the area, where my friend was sitting, I thought, Nah stuff this, too many people "No way, I could possibly have gotten over there, without trampling people, and crushing their belongings, so I found my way back, to where we were sitting originally, and I tried to make the best of the situation.
My younger brother (13) who went with us, had a friend with us, and also he went missing during the first half of the concert, and we thought he was going to come back to us, but he didn't, luckily, they have a balloon for lost kids, to go to, when they lose their parents, so I thought I'd look there. Luckily we found him, and all was good.
After the show finished, we had to take a train back home, and yet again, people said I was going off my head, shouting orders, and running around, like a headless chook. it involved being cramped tighter then a sardine, for approx 2 hours, while waiting in line, for a train, because the line was so long, and plus there's also the fact, that you have to keep the whole group together, without losing anybody. Luckily, we got on the train, and got home.
We got there at 1pm in the afternoon, we got home just after midnight.
You might think, that's normal, if you're attending the event. I didn't just "Attend" I was the one who organised the whole thing, and I had the stressfulness, of being cramped, and breathing in second hand smoke, plus the stressfullness, of running the event, and making sure people were okay, as it was my responsability, to ensure everybody was safe, and well, at all times.
Hope you took the time to listen.
Off to bed now lol, been exhausting.
Night
I hope u don't decide to do this again! But if u do make sure everyone understands u are NEVER going back for anything not even a person . If they get left behind and don't have a ride back home u call the police for them they'll take them home. As for the kid lost always tell them the hav to hang out in 3s. As for the complainers, Next time they complain u tell them they are welcome to be in charge the next time. And then proceed to tell them verbally remember u have to begin six months in advance and call different trains and remember, etc. if they tell u something like I would need your help or write it down you tell them no I'm not doing your job for you that doesn't make sense no one helped me. You'll see how they change their mine. I've taken 40 teenagers to Disney and 15 to Europe and I did it with aspergers. But I will never ever do it again. Good luck! You did an excellent job for them.
