Is anyone else shy about sneezing in front of people?

I am....I try not to sneeze in front of people if I can help it. I used to have a really bad habit of stifling my sneezes in public, and I still do it sometimes today. I find it embarrassing when people all say "BLESS YOU!" at once, because since I have social anxiety to begin with, I try to make myself as quiet and unnoticeable as possible.

I'm also shy about sneezing in front of people because I feel like my sneeze is really loud....kind of like a Car sneeze, you might say.

Does anyone else feel embarrassed to sneeze in front of people or in any public place?

If ya gotta sneeze, ya gotta sneeze. nothing to be embarrassed about. If the people around you say "Bless You," just thank them and be done with it.

You are sneezing into your elbow when it does happen, don't you? You wouldn't want to be spreading anything like a cold.

Ltlpinkcoupe give yourself credit that at least you try to sneeze away from people. People like me appreciate that, especially since I have the doctor who coughs, clears his throat SO LOUD and has bad breath and does it all. in front of me. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Yes. I try to avoid sneezing in front of people. If I really have to, I make sure that I cover my face with my arm and I'm facing the ground or any direction where nothing/no one can be contaminated by my sneeze.

Well since I don't like calling attention to myself in front of crowds of people, I generally dislike sneezing in public. Having people call attention to it by saying "bless you," as is generally socially acceptable, makes me feel even more anxious. I usually just thank them and hope that'll be the end of it.

I hate sneezing in front of people who say "bless you" but don't mind it when around people who don't. I find it interesting that several others here have said the same. I think it has to do with social anxiety.

I don't like sneezing out in public because usually when I go to sneeze out in public the sneeze shoots back up my nose again, making me do a really funny noise, and then I get everyone looking at me like I'm insane. I think it's a social anxiety thing. I do feel like I'm always being watched and judged when I'm out in public, so that's probably why I can't sneeze properly. I hate coughing in public too, for the same reasons - even if I have a bad cough!

Otherwise, I don't get embarrassed to sneeze in front of people. I get embarrassed to burp or fart though, in front of anyone. A lot of people in my family do humiliate anyone that farts, which is what's put me off doing it in front of anyone.

My sneezes are really loud. I am allergic to dust and it doesn't take much to set me off in a sneezing attack. It doesn't bother me to sneeze in public. It's not embarrassing at all, but it annoys me the way other people react to it. It's just commonplace to me, nothing to comment on or be surprised about.

yes! i consider it rude and try not to do it. but sometimes cant help it. i dont want to blow my nose in front of people, either. i hate it. makes me so self conscious.

Its embarrassing if I dont have a hankerchief handy to sneeze into.

Otherwise- I just go at it, and sneeze away with wild abandon regardless of who is watching.
