I now have my official papers from from the Psychologist. I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Unspecified Anxiety Disorder. I guess I am looking for advice for anyone who has worked for the federal government and would be able to provide any information or assistance for what I do next. I know the federal government acknowledges and assists in hiring, promoting, and providing jobs for people with various disabilities. Now, don't get me wrong. This isn't a I want a free hand me out because I already have a job that I love. I just don't know how to report this to them or where to even start and I do feel that in some areas I do need help within my career. My productivity is amazing and so are my quality reviews. I just need help with stuff such as interviewing and applying for jobs / my resume. For the last 2 years I have had so much difficult in those areas to the point where during an interview for a promotion or different job I just freeze up and stop talking. Can I get help with these things (if you have experience in working with or for the gov let me know please)? Should I see my union rep? Talk to my boss? I've never talked about my diagnosis to anyone but my parents and my life partner so I don't know how to even inquire about this at work.

Maybe it would be better to go though government resources then through your employer.

If it is not too invasive, may I ask where you live?

I don't work for the federal government but was diagnosed about 2 years ago right after I turned 37. I managed to get federal disability on my own and health assistance. I am now fairly involved in the community and am a wealth of relevant resources. I would be happy to help in any way I can.

Feel free to PM me if you would rather not share your location on the forum.
