For me, I find a few cups a day spaced out from morning to dinner (200-400mg) helps with focus and processing social situations. But if I mistakenly drink too much I get very over stimulated and it drains my energy fast.

Caffeine has no effect on me fortunately and unfortunately.

I can drink a few cups of coffee and fall asleep very easily. When I was a teenager I tried coffee to keep me awake at night to prepare for exams. It did absolutely nothing and after 3 or 4 cups, I gave up and fell asleep at the desk. The good thing is that I love the taste of coffee and I can have it at any time of the day or night.

Other caffeinated drinks are the same. I tried V etc (energy drinks) but I ended up falling asleep.

EDIT: added missing words

Even a little bit of caffeine causes my anxiety level to go through the roof. Not to mention I get agitated to the point where I am visibly shaking.

As a result, I've come to the conclusion that I should just avoid it altogether.

I can drink only one mug of coffee in the morning with my breakfast. But if I have more than that, my sleep is disturbed as far off as bedtime that night -- caffeine can stay in the sytem for up to 12 hours. And if I drink even that one cup too fast, I get a rather nasty mid-level panic attack.

Neither Coffee nor Energy Drinks seem to have any affect on me. Although I'm a little odd in that area as I seem to wake up tired, but become more alert as the day goes along meaning it takes me a while to switch off at the end of the night with or without caffeine.

Since I have pretty extreme ADHD, and most ADHD treatments are extreme stimulants... so.. caffeine helps...

I am extremely sensitive to caffeine. Even decaffeinated tea bothers me.

I can literally feel it kick in. It's a trip. There's a surge through my whole body, my heart and thoughts race. I kinda get nutty, manic. I go into brain overload, I can't think strait for all the thoughts running thru my head. I get the bladder effects too, in extremes.

I've never had much of a reaction to caffeine. Sometimes I think it even makes me a bit sleepy, actually. But even though I don't think it makes me feel any difference, it does keep me awake at night if I have it too late in the day, so I try not to have any caffeine after 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

I learned the meaning of love from an americano. 4 shots of espresso goodness. Doesn't need any milk or sugar and I normally really pile those on.

I'm very sensitive to caffeine, even a little bit makes me feel really weird and spacey whereas my OH is the exact opposite, in fact it puts her to sleep!

I love to have a cup of tea.

It relaxes me and wakes me up, and helps me focus.

It is jolly good stuff. :)

I drank it daily in black coffee for 15 years. Sometimes a lot of it. (4-5 pots/day at my peak.. insomnia and jitteriness ensued lol but that was in part from the caffeine and in part from the salicylate acids.) It would wake me up and get me going, provide some focus & stimulant induced energy. I drank a lot less of it during the few years I took Dexedrine for ADHD - maybe 1 or 2 cups/day, and sometimes none for several day stretches.

I haven't had a regular cup of coffee for over a year now since I cut out salicylate acids entirely for 6 months or so, and then after that I cut out stimulants. (Caffeine, Dexedrine/Dextroamphetamine, Nicotine) So, not sure how caffeine might affect me today. Since doing what I've done to successfully treat all of my symptoms, I no longer have the need for stimulant medications or caffeine. I can foresee having a cup of coffee once in a while in the future, but I don't foresee feeling so dependant on it for it's caffeine stimulant drug effect ever again.
