Do you have people in your life that you can be 100% yourself with? Your parents? Long term partner? Friends?
What qualities do they have that makes this possible?

The closest I've gotten is my first boyfriend, I think, and a guy I've been talking to online.

What made it easier to be myself with my ex, was that he also have psychological issues, and I did, in fact, meat him in a mental institution. The guy on the internet because, well, it was on the internet. I did however struggle a lot when we tried to talk with webcam.

Other than that I find it really hard to be completely myself, well, I suppose being myself includes being introverted, so being open isn't exactly part of it. So I'd say I'm pretty much myself with close friends and family, but not particularly open about touchy, feely stuff.

I am how I am to whomever I'm interacting with, 100%.

Re: Who knows the real you?

Nobody.

As for being 100% myself, the real me may be mostly on the inside.

I don't think anyone knows the real me 100%. I'm pretty relaxed and be very close to being so around my family but I don't show some sides of me to them unnecessarily. I don't think it's a problem.

Not even I know the "real me."

That's one of those questions for which there is no real answer.

Thanks for the responses, I'm trying to understand the whole picture with regard to acceptance. :) I've a handful of people who I can be myself with, they've seen it all.

Only my dad. Maybe my grandma (she's my mom figure), but she just takes "the real me" as rudeness, so I do end up having to put up a façade for her often. :?

Whenever two people meet, there are six identities present.
Each person as they see themselves, each person as they see the other, and each as they really are. - Robert Burns, more or less.
I may not agree with someone's impression or opinion of me, but it is real for them, and vice versa. We are almost all very bad at imagining people unlike ourselves. We even anthropomorphize animals extensively.

Everyone, you know, if they took the time to actually get to know me, but if i listed it off, it would take forever. i never change my personality when i socialize, i only act out the socialization cues i have learned. my behaviour and personality all stay the same

Husband. It's not all that it's cracked up to be though, having someone accept me as a depressed, angry, selfish, childish person means I don't try to break those things that make me that way, it's pretty messed up when I think about it that way.
