when i was a baby i was a breach birth and had yeast infections at just a few days old and was put on medication for it, when i was less than a year old i had chronic ear infections and had tubes put in my ears, when i was two i burnt my chest really bad and i was hospitalized for 4 weeks.

Did you hearing loss from ear infections?

I was in the wrong position in labor and wouldn't come out so I had to be pulled out with forceps and I was all covered in poo because I got stressed I pooped in my mother's uterus. I was very sick and in intensive care for awhile I am not sure for how long. Parents said it was a few weeks but in the baby book I swore it said I came home five days after. Then I had to be on feeding tubes for a week after being home and I couldn't eat anything. Then I was a normal baby for a while until I got to seven months and I started to get ear infections and they would keep coming back. I also kept getting fevers. Then I got hearing loss and got tubes put in and I could hear again after being deaf for about nine months. I have been having problems ever since and now I am as good as I am.

i did loose 10 percent of my hearing and now i can hear some ringing in my ear constantly. it doesnt seem to dim the sensitivity though :/

I was born cyanotic and rushed to an incubator / oxygen chamber w/e,
and I was in the hospital for like two weeks after that.
Then when I was less than a year old I almost died of some respiratory
thing and was in the hospital for a month.
Then before I was two I started having seizures (stopped after I was about 6).
And then it was "guess what folks? He's autistic too".
My poor parents .

I was 2 months premature and born to a diabetic mother. As a result I had severe jaundice (lots of babies do) and hypocalcemia (sp?) whereby I had low levels of calcium (not sure about the science side of that). This resulted in my having repeated seizures (convulsions). I was in special care for some time but eventually recovered.

I was born about six weeks premature. My mom—who was in her 40s at the time—had an infection in the womb, which is why they had to get me out early. My lungs were underdeveloped at birth, so they had me on oxygen for a short time afterward. I think I had to stay in the hospital for a week or two after I was born.

My Mum just had a hard time with me. I was late for one thing, but also, I apparently got caught up in my chord and wasn't taking in enough oxygen but she was able to give birth to me naturally and I was alright and stuff so I guess she was lucky.

I always believed I had been breech but on my last birthday my parents had been discussing my birth and told me I was actually born with the cord round my neck and I remained blue for some time.

Well, I guess all that birth stuff and the health issues had to be traumatic, but I think it would be cool to have you as a son.

My mom says she had toxemia (high blood pressure) when I was born, and my dad remembers that they put tiny monitors on my head when I was on my way out, and he says that bcuz my mom didn't want an epidural at first, the monitors were making my head "light up" on this screen they had the monitors connected to. In other words, my mother and I were under a lot of stress, but once my mother agreed to have the epidural, the rest of the birth went just fine. I also had slight jaundice as a newborn and had to sit under biliruben (sp?) lights for long periods of time for a few days afterward. I got to wear little shades on my eyes on my mom says I felt nice and warm when I was returned to her.

I was born by C-section. After that it it appeared I was born slightly pre-term and I had jaundice. I remained at the hospital for 15 days. After that everything went all right, as far as I know.

I almost died during delivery, and didn't breathe for several minutes. Also, I had a twin who was miscarried 3 months into the pregnancy.

I was born at 28 weeks, erm I think I weighed 2 pounds, and had bad jaundice, I then got an infection after leaving and had to go back into hospital, I think there was a good chance of not making it.

I also had bad bruising to the head due to having a normal birth, I should have been a caesarean birth.

I was an ICSI IVF baby as well.

I was born at term without any complications, but when I was born, I didn't cry according to my mom. This is true of my daughter as well.

I was recently diagnosed with AS, but it doesn't seem to be caused by problems in utero.

thats the thing, no one knows the cause of autism, they found evidence that autism risks can increase in certain situations but theyre not 100% sure. no evidence to point to the theory of autism being caused by a troublesome birth either.

according to my mother, i was born upside down.
