My therapist suggested taking breaks while reading textbooks like read 6 pages take a break. To me that feels odd. Usually I plow through and read the whole chapter (usually 1hr-1hr. 30min.) to do that straight through. She said not stopping is an "anxiety issue." I'm not too sure though. Yesterday I tried her method and got through 1 chapter. Today nothing since I've been sort of depressed. I was wondering if others read a whole chapter before taking a break or not. Playing a video game I find save spots or get through fighting a monster or cutscene to the next area then save. But to me "bookmarking it" isn't the same as saving a video game. Was wondering peoples thoughts on this issue Thanks.

How is not stopping reading an anxiety issue? WTF. There have been books I enjoyed and I didn't want to put it down because I enjoyed it so much. Only time I had to put it down was if I had other things to do like sleep, take a shower, clean, and of course when you have kids, you are going to have to put the book down to take care of them when they need you or when you need to check up on them.

If you enjoy a book, keep on reading, I don't see why you need breaks. Why stop if you enjoy the story?
