Ok Guys

I have a challenge, I have offended a friend and I want to reconcile.

However she is not the type to admit she is hurt or even offended(!), so what do I do?

Do I just be friendly and normal? Do I say, "If I have offended you then I am sorry"?

Thanks so much for the great forum.

Thanks man.

I am thinking of doing that very thing, however she is a very introverted individual and I am afraid she will feign complete ignorance.

Although it is very obvious that she is offended, and our friendship has gone back a few paces...

The question is then, will this friend respect the apology or use it to inflict hurt on me for the perceived previous slight. Excuse me for over analyzing.....

Further advice would be greatly appreciated...

Oh yeah she probably will fake ignorance. Now from a totally personal pov
when I hear some like "sorry if you were offended" it kinda makes me feel like
im being accused of something. As if you could use it in a sentence like,
"sorry you were offended, anyone else would have laughed".
The line i usually use is something like "sorry if i sounded stupid" or "sorry if/for being an idiot".
That will usually get me a denial "oh no you werent..." or a simple "thats okay".

Or perhaps just leave the apology and try and win the confidence back....

The "Sorry I offended you" might be taken as an accusation.

"sorry about yesterday" works well with me too (im a touchy kid sometimes).
But yeah, they say actions speak louder than words, so i think thats prolly what matters most in the long run,
how you act and treat the person afterwords.

I like these suggestions. My vote it to go with what the above poster said and either say "Sorry about yesterday" or "Sorry I'm an idiot."
