I don't like busses at all, but don't mind trains of all types. I try to travel outside of rush hour because I don't like being in a crowded car. I usually wear a walkman on public transit to block outside noise.
In Vancouver we have the Skytrain, which is a fully-automatic elevated system. I travel a lot, so I've also used the Metro/Subway/Tram systems in Boston, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Montreal, Toronto and Paris.
Paris is the only place where I've ever had any trouble, really. I got on the wrong train once and had to retrace my steps. I also didn't know that the RER and M lines have different hours of operation and freaked when I got to the RER station and was told there were no more trains for that night. I thought they meant there was no more transit that night, but it turned out the M line stays open an hour later than the RER and I made it to an M station just in time.
