:) Hello. Everyone keeps saying I'm autistic even though I'm not. How can I prove to them once and for all that I'm not autistic?

I don't enjoy repetitive tasks. I have a good imagination. I can hold perfectly normal conversations with people. Just 'cause I'm quite clever and a bit shy people just say I'm autistic.

So could you help me out with a way to prove to them that I'm not autistic? Thanks.

Hi there.

Give this test a try:

I'd have to see a video of you interacting with someone in a social setting, unedited (the busier the place, the better).

Easy then.

Get official testing done?

Nothing says I told you so like papers.

It gave me a score of 24 "Average math contest winner" which is quite good because I have won some math contests!

I suppose that is quite high really but it is under 32 so it says I don't have autism. Also, I think if a very shy person did this test it would probably say they had autism too but they might just be shy.

But how can I prove to my friends that I don't have it. Print out the test and show it to them? I don't think that will convince them somehow.

Give it a try. If not, do what Eldanesh said and get tested officially.

Why is it so important for you to prove that you're not autistic? Hope that didn't sound insensitive--just wondering why that matters so much.

There mite not be anything you can do to prove to others your not autistic OP. If they believe your autistic only because of the things you mentioned; they clearly do not understand autism. If you wer tested & told you wer not autistic; other people may not believe that diagnoses

Who cares what others think. Just ignore them. :)

Being autistic isn't all that bad anyway.

Very good  I think one the most important things for for some of us in finding about about our autism was that we understood we wer different from others & we accepted ourselves as we wer. Some of us here with official diagnoses of autism are still pressured quite a lot from others be like NTs. It was also a big help understanding our strengths/weaknesses ect so it mite be a good idea to get tested if you want to better understand things about yourself but it mite not change the way others think about you

that's no good because what if the doctor said, "actually your friends were right all along and you ARE autistic after all." that would be very annoying! :o :o :o

Isn't there like a simple test I could do such as "If you do this thing then that proves you can't possibly be autistic?"

Look up the diagnostic criteria for Asperger's and Autistic Disorder. If you don't match any of the criteria, then that would pretty much mean that you're not autistic.

no doctor would say that just like that

I am trying to prove I am not autistic as well and the only thing that would prove it would be examination by experts in my case. In your case knowledge about autism might help, if you know what it is you can convince your friends if you really have to... But I wonder why you want friends like that. I would not be bothered to see them again if they were labelling me like that.
