Asperger syndrome: is a neurological disorder resulting in a group of social and behavioral symptoms. It is part of a category of conditions called autism spectrum disorders. Children with Asperger syndrome usually have normal intelligence and do not have the language problems typical of autism. Now since I have educated you on the definition of what Asperger's is about, let me tell you how I see it through the world in my eyes. I suffer with more than just Asperger's I also have 2 types of classified diagnosis called generalized anxiety which leads to panic attacks and severe depression which can affect my routine in life. I am now starting to have sensory overload weather it hypersensitivity which means high sensitivity to smells and touch and sound or hyposensitivity to having low touch smells and sounds. Such as for example, the sound of a pin or a something falling 2 blocks away in the distance or it not in the room but you can still be able to hear it but others can't. Not all of use on the spectrum are the same from how the media portrays us we are different. Like my self, I have PDD-NOS and I'm high functioning so when you ask me what is it like to have Asperger's? don't ask unless you actually know about they whole subject of Asperger's.
they say in research we tend to lack empathy and have no eye contact I say some of that info does not relate to all aspies . So the next time you see a person that you think or know that has Asperger's treat them like you wanted to be treated.
