I know so little about computers, but I would like to set up a blog. At AutHaven the end of the month, there will be several bloggers attending. If one of them helped me, would putting together a blogspot be time consuming. And if the blog were already set up, would the rest of it be easy to learn?

Should I start with the blog/journal section provided by WP?

hi vickygleitz,
its actualy very easy to use a blogspot/blogger blog, register it,click on the the theme that prefer, make a logo if woud like and its done.
the actual post writing is just like on this forum and theres absolutely no need for any understanding of html.
go for it right now. ;)

to make it even easier, theres also desktop blog publishing programs which look like a small basic version of open office/microsoft word, used to use a good one but cant remember the name for it,however heres a review of a load of them-

Yep! A lot of people aren't very tech-savvy, so many blog services are designed to be usable by people who don't know much beyond how to register, name it, type a post, and select a pre-designed theme. You could still ask an expert which one is the best to use, or to create a custom theme for you.

I wouldn't bother trying - it's never worked properly.

As others have said, none of the online blog services expect their users to understand computers: they all aim to be very easy to use.
Check out this one too: http://wordpress.com/
