Ever since I was little have craved this proprioceptive input as most of my system is hypersensitive...I need some amount for calm during the day and on more anxiety/mood stabilizer medication- as my aggressive behavior increased.

My occupational therapist knows how this compression aids me and will help.

Who has experience with "hug vests" and other options?

I should probably try one as I need to hug a pillow when having anxiety or meltdown.
Or have someone hug me from behind. my cousin is good at that in helping me calm down or get to sleep.
i think they tried hug vest when i was littler but i did not like it then.
People have talked about weighted blankets to helping lots.
For me its kind of a fine line between feeling comforted and feeling constricted or pinned down.

I got a massage chair that does the shiatsu massage and also the Thai compression massage. It also heats up.

It is really good.

I got it for cheep too.

For a time I had something like periodic touch starvation. I found a great massage therapist that gave very deep massages. I would leave in such a limp, relaxed state I could barely walk and had to be careful driving.

Yes. Good massage therapist is incredibly calming and helpful with deep pressure and pressure points and I don't know what but can fix being in an awful state to feeling solid and real and even safe.

Not necessarily if they're made of the right material. I mean if it's 100 degrees (F) outside almost anything is hot, but something cotton would be cooler.

I wonder how a weighted blanket is made of cotton?

I like to sleep in a spandex zentai bodysuit. It's like a little pressure, but all over.

It's layers of cotton with plastics pellets in it that make it heavy. That's what mine is. It doesn't feel hot even in the middle of summer. weighted blankets are great.

it depends on what fabric it is made of
