Medicine works differently for different people. Even aspies react to medicine differently. I take prozac for stress/anxiety but nothing(anymore) for ASD or concentration. The prozac works pretty well for me but it may not work the same on you. you should ask your doctor when you are there what (s)he thinks would be best and how well they(the medicine) blends with other meds you may be taking.

try dies 1st, medication is a last resort, not a first. Taking some omega 3 would help though

Ok, I'm not an Aspie, but I have struggled with mood issues and obsessions for most of my life. I've found that the medication that works BEST for putting me in a positive state of mind (without going overboard, into mania), are those produced naturally by the body as a result of any kind of endurance training: walking, running, hiking, etc.

Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your question, but if you're not fit and don't regularly engage in some endurance related activity, I would encourage you to go our for, say, an 1/2 walk each morning and see if that doesn't put a dent in thing. The hardest part is starting.

I agree, meds should be a last resort.

Hi Zombie,
The most common medication used to treat autistic disorders is Risperidone and it is now licenced to treat children as young as 5.
Both Fluoxetine and Clomipramine can help with anxiety and OCD and Aspies often need a lower dose than NTs.
Take care
Simon

Meditation may help most mental issues by stengthening the mind.
- Depressions
- Anxieties
- OCD's
- Stress

It will also help prevent those things. Of course, it takes practice and time.

Wow, there is 3 of us who are referencing pot. So far, pot is winning :!: (thing is, some people may laugh but my vote for pot is more serious)

Helps with foot pain too.. look who opposes it.. The only one in the article who doesnt see ANY benefit, except what can be dubbed down and SOLD in a pill form, is, surprise, directly attached to the "Government." Apparently, in order to be a gov. scientist you need to be as closed minded as an ass sphincter :D

Hey

I have been depressed numerous times and have found that medication helps me a whole lot. It is recommended that you take anti-depressants.

Talk to your mom about talking to your doctor about Efexxor

if you go on that, when you come off them do it gradually no all at once coz it destroyed me and in the end they did nothing for me.

From my web searching I see you tried Effexor. So why did you take it and what went
wrong? Or did you mean all anti-depressants in general?

BTW I haven't smoked the stuff forever and I've really craved it lately (due to lots of anxiety)

Where do you find the stuff.

And how do I avoid looking like a narc due to my social skill issues?

Any young man standing around during normal work hours has a 50% chance of selling it or knowing someone who does. If they have dread locks that number shoots
to 99.9%.

And #3. What is the best way to approach them. What do I say? I can barely say hi to people I know.

Also, is there a good approach to inquiring about the stuff at a head shop?
