Okay, so it went like this: I was in a class where we make things from wood and metal and stuff, and we had to make a toy for a nearby Kindergarten. To get ideas, we traveled to a toy store in town, about 20 minutes away on foot (and we walked there). As I always do, I wanted to talk about my story, which my friends don't mind because it's an interesting story, and I can expand on it so that I don't numb them with the same ideas over and over.

Anyway, I wanted to explain to my friend Merlin (no, not the wizard, I'm not insane. Don't believe the doctors, they're just jealous!) about my Aspie character Kipo, but he hadn't heard about her before, and so I started to go on explaining about AS, the world of AS, and it's difficulties such as personal space and The Cure (even though it's not around yet). I was able to draw on both Kipo and myself to explain things, and even our walking through town was helpful (I could go "Kipo would never EVER walk down that street because it's got a lot of people walking down it").

All in all, it was a 100% successful trip!

Oh, and I got a few ideas from the toy store we went to.

We all go there

Yeah, the only problem is a lot of people have been down that road before(Sorry, I couldn't resist  ), and he probably already thinks you were basically talking about yourself. Not that there is anything wrong with that certainly. I'm just saying it doesn't have quite the effect that it probably once had.

It IS interesting about personal space though. West Europeans used to have more than most other cultures, and Americans had even MORE! I liked the way it WAS! I was fine with that. NOW, it seems like Americans don't even have the space that eastern cultures had. I have actually backed up over a quarter city block because the person talking to me kept moving forward.

Good. I talk about myself a lot too, and people don't mind for the same reason they don't mind listening to you. It's interesting to hear!

The exception is when I repeat myself; I increasingly hear, "Yes, I know, you've told me that before."

So now I just say, "I know I've probably told you this before, but when I was..." etc. etc.

I loathe crowds and can get panicky in a crowded store. It's not claustrophobia; it's dislike of most people. I've been around long enough to make a good guess what most of them are like, and basically they are my enemies.

This makes me prize my friends all the more.
