On the off-chance there's any other Geordies hiding on these forums - or if any turn-up in the future and happen across this (if you do please feel free to send me a message).
I just wanted to share a new local autism meet...

Thanks for posting this! I live in the north east. I am still awaiting an assessment to see whether being on the spectrum is the reason behind my problems, so I am not sure yet. If I do get a diagnosis I have heard there isn't much support NHS-wise for adults, so it is really helpful to know that there is local support for autism in the form of this organisation :)

yea there's no support even if you feel like you need it.

you're already an adult and managed this far so they expect you to be able cope no matter what.

as a place? Not bad It's not a very big city and the town centre is pretty small and compact but it has everything you need.

I live in a rough area but I've not had any issues at all the 15 years I've lived here.

I don't know where all the rough kids of the estate hang out but it's certainly not around here as I barely ever see groups bigger than 4-6 people and they are never causing anyone any harm.

I just met an old couple from Newcastle. When they heard that I was from the south east the guy treated me like s**t. He said Oh you are a southener. When I tried to talk to him he put his headphones on. What is this crap about???

There is another guy here from Newcastle who told my wife that she could do better than me. He wants to be friends on facebook but i feel that this is not possible. What is up with people from here that think that if you are born south of you that you have a problem? It hurt me at first till I realised that they were just disgusting people.

I don't see any information on the monthly meetings on either the facebook page or the website.
