"The AMSE is an 8-item observational assessment that structures the way clinicians observe and document social, communicative and behavioral functioning in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)."

This is a recent developed "test". The difference with other tools is that you have free acces to the questions, the manual, and training classes.

For DSM5: Sensitivity 91% and Specificity 93% (Cutoff score equal or greater than 5)

Notes: This is not a diagnostic tool. This is not a self-test.

This seems like a great tool! As a therapist, I frequently do mental status exams and many of the items on the tool are meant for NT clients. Items such as eye contact are limited to yes or no and there is a lot of variability for an ASD population that is not accounted for on those sheets. It would be great to see this used more frequently!
