When I was a kid, up until my mid-teens at least, I used to stim by bouncing a ball against a wall, sometimes for hours a day. I have let go of that as I've learned more adaptive behaviors as an adult and am now living an outwardly pretty "normal" life, even though right now I'm under so much stress that I feel like I'm drowning almost constantly. Last night I dreamed that I cleared out a space in a basement and bounced a ball against the wall, and I felt such incredible peace in the dream. It makes me wonder if I could actually bring that back into my life. Wouldn't that be "regression" and a horrible thing though? Even if it made me feel better? :?

I dream about doing my old stim all the time and I felt the same way. I ended up trying it just to see but it didn't work anymore so it was pretty useless. You can try if you want, but it probably won't work. Most likely it's just a wanting to return to your childhood type of dream.
