One year and 850 posts ago, I posted a thread http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt229379.html discussing my (then) 6 years and 1,000 posts here at WrongPlanet, which in so many respects is the "Right Planet".
I will always have respect for Alex for what he has done with WP, which has been a lighthouse in the dark to thousands of Aspies for the last decade.
In my "1,000th post" thread, I some of my disappointments from those previous 6 years, including the lack of an Aspie community or even a community center, and the lack of offline Aspie events.
In the last year, one WP member, Vickygleitz, created an offline event called "AutHaven", which by all accounts was a smashing success and will be repeated (http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp5934527.html). I would also like to take this opportunity to again thank Vicky on the record for all that she has done.
Unfortunately, I have reached the conclusion over the last year that WP is, whatever it's other virtues, not an encouraging place to discuss offline activities. While many may discuss the exact reasons, and I have my own views on the topic, I will respectfully not discuss those reasons in this post.
Because of the above-mentioned lack of encouragement of offline development, I do not believe I will be posting on WP in the future after the conclusion of this thread. In this course of action, I join others who have come to similar decisions.
I will continue to occasionally post my thoughts on the "Aspergian Discussion" forum, which is located at http://aspergiandiscussion.proboards.com/, and I will continue to maintain my Skype and E-mail accounts for the foreseeable future.
In closing, I would like to thank those on this forum, in the past, in the present, and in the future, who work to make the world a better place.
