To be honest from what I've noticed of people online the past couple years, if two auties or even two Broader Autistic Phenotypes get together and have kids, most of those kids are going to be similar to their parents. I mean, that's usually how genetics works: we're like our parents. Now, there may be differing degrees, but there's still going to be many autistic similarities.

As for the research, I really don't think any research has been done on the subject. At least, nothing I've come across in larger scale. Probably because many studies ignore subclinical autism (Broader Autistic Phenotype) and so they're overlooking the subtlety of genetics. Their criteria are too strict so they miss the larger picture.
