Yes I did think you meant cocaine, anyways the coca-cola used to essentially have cocaine in it as it used to be legal....but not anymore. Though I thought cocaine was simply the plant substance ground into powder more or less...are there other ingredients in cocaine? I've had it a couple times, and all it really did was make me feel slightly stimulated, very calm and couldn't sleep took it at night so thats how i know that. But it wasn't the super amazing high I have heard people describe it as.

Perhaps its the caffeine in the coca-cola you're addicted to....as for me cigarettes, smoke quite a bit of cannabis but not sure I'd fit the definition of being addicted to it.

A liter a day? jeez lady.

I'm addicted to peanut butter. It's delicious. I smoke cigarettes and am also addicted to coffee. I just realized I probably drink a liter of coffee a day so your cola drinking doesn't seem overboard then. heh.

I don't have any since going paleo. It seems to have obliterated such things, for me any way.

I'm definitely addicted to pop and chips, and I used to be a major coffee/energy drink addict too (still am somewhat, but not nearly as much as I used to be). I know I shouldn't be eating so much junk food, and lately I've actually been trying to replace more of my pop/energy drink consumption with diet versions so that I cut down a bit on my sugar intake. It helps that my friend's mother has been giving me a bit of a hard time for constantly scarfing down junk food. :P

I tried drinking nothing but water when not eating a meal, and it gets boring real quick.

Last summer I was putting lime slices and ice in my thermos cup, then I could refill with water and/or ice and have something tasty the whole day.

At the moment I am back to an addiction to coffee, because of the cold, but coffee sucks, it stains your teeth and keeps you up.

You need to kick that Coke habit, it has sugar, and the either the carbonation or phosphoric acid does something to your teeth. I would have to Google it. Found this on the Colgate site, which I wouldn't really consider bias free ....

Quote:
Soft drinks have emerged as one of the most significant dietary sources of tooth decay, affecting people of all ages. Acids and acidic sugar byproducts in soft drinks soften tooth enamel, contributing to the formation of cavities. In extreme cases, softer enamel combined with improper brushing, grinding of the teeth or other conditions can lead to tooth loss.

Sugar-free drinks, which account for only 14 percent of all soft drink consumption, are less harmful1. However, they are acidic and potentially can still cause problems.

Try corn chips with no added salt.

Two brands I know of are Azteca, has no salt, and then El Ranchero, they call their low sodium "Natural", which works for me, whatever.

I looove chips and salsa, I like the Lime and Habenero salsa from Trader Joe's, and do not ask how someone with Asperger's likes fiery hot salsa, cuz I can't figure it out either.

What will happen if you don't drink coca-cola for a day? Any funny feelings? Are you angry? Are you sleepy? Perhaps it is just your favorite drink.

If drinking a liter of a drink a day is a addiction I am addicted to water with gas. I even get angry when the gas water is not there. I drink 1,5l of it a day. We buy 2 six-packs of 1,5l bottles of it a week (my dad drinks a lot of the gas water too). It is a home disaster if the bottled water is not there. Both me and my dad look for "something to drink" and we are not happy with tea or tap water. Someone has to go to shop and buy the water. :D

Anyway. I think we are prone to "addictions" because of our need of sameness and our obsessions which we can focus for a whole day. My dad constantly thinks I am addicted to Internet because I spend in it almost whole day every day. But it isnt an actual addiction since there is nothing wrong with me when I take a break from the computer. I feel funny because my rutine changes this way but that's all.

On the other hand we might be immune to some actual addictions. For example I can't imagine myself drinking coffee, a lot of alcohol or smoking cigarettes because my sensitivity to smell and taste make it very unpleasant. I also wouldn't be able to take drags. Once I got a painkiller pill that doctor described: "It will make the pain gone for sure but you might feel like you are blown of marihuana". The painkiller didn't work on the pain at all (It was still hurting badly) and I was feeling bad, as if someone hit my head. It wasn't pleasant feeling and I got no hallucinations and it definitely was not fun. The doctor gave me 2 pills (2nd to use in 8h) but I used only one and the 2nd one landed in trash. It's not like I will ever try something like this again.

Maybe less harmful for your teeth, then again if one has good oral hygene I don't think they are going to suffer a ton of tooth decay from soda....I could be wrong but I'd think regularly brushing and what not would prevent the stuff in the soda from sitting there and corroding teeth too much. Also though the fake sweetners are very bad for ones health worse....its worse for physical health to drink diet soda rather than regular.

I don't really like soda anymore unless its the natural kind...without high fructose corn syrup and all the other nasty crap.

Coffee in the mornings. Gives me the caffeine - same as coke does for you - without the adverse effects on my teeth and weight. A day without coffee would be like a day without light for me!

Coffee, and sometimes chocolate.

Do you know what Crunch N' Munch is? I'm totally addicted to that stuff and it's crap! I just love it though. I only eat it about once a month, but I eat the whole box! Trying to just really cut back on sugar since I suspect that's what that is about as it is caramel which is pure sugar - except this is the crappy processed corn syrup stuff. (Writing that whole thing out only made me want to go get some.)

Chocolate is unique in that it has an interesting substance called theobromine in it. Check it out on the net.
Hardly occurs in any other plants or foods.

Cigarette manufacturers discovered its properties too - one of its positive effects is that it expands lung capacity. So the B......S laced cigarettes with it, so that people took in more nicotine, more quickly, to the brain and that increased the addictive effect of cigarettes.

But theobromine in itself is not harmful, but helpful (except in cigarettes).

when i dont get pop my legs and back hurt, i feel irritable and desperate, the longest i can go without it is 2 days.

if i dont drink it for a while, and then i drink it, its like a high, i become really calm and relaxed and all my pains go away, its an amazing feeling.
