Google Harvard emotional intelligence and click on the Harvard link it should be the first one. (Sorry I couldn't post the address)

I found this test of 37 question were you have to pick out what emotions the people are feeling based on their expressions. You only get to see their eyes.

The average is score 26. Females typical score one more correct than males. It isn't timed and think it would be interesting to see how fast people do this test on average as I am sure even though females only score one point better than males they probably finish the test noticeably quicker. I ended up getting a 27 but probably only because I have read a few books on how to identify emotions, and I have tried to make efforts in the past to think how I and most people would look if they were feeling a certain emotion. I was also to eliminate wrong answers I think.

Tell me how felt taking this test and how well you did. I thought I was going to score below average.

I got a 25, but honestly I couldn't really tell what more than half of the eyes were telling me. I thought I was going to get far below average.

I would say that is good score especially for anyone that is not an NT. I would not be surprised if there was an Aspie who scored really high if their interest was studying body language.

I had taken this same test a while back. This time I scored 28. I tried to guess the emotion before looking at the 4 options. The emotion that I guessed was never one of the 4 options listed. So, then I chose one that best matched my original guess.

I was surprised at how well I did.

Truthfully, I was surprised how easy most of them seemed when I was taking them. Then I looked at my results and realized I was totally off on a lot. I scored a 22. Given that I felt almost sure on every single one, that's almost fifteen I was mistakenly confident in.

I got 25, this isn't the first time I've done such a test and I'm a bit disappointed as I thought I did better than before.

18 correct here.

question 1. Two of the possible answers are arrogant and hateful. Aren't they almost synonyms?
There is zero chance I would ever know the difference in someone's eyes between those 2 words.

I rarely look at people's faces and avoid eye contact at all costs.
I didn't realize there were so many possible things eyes could be 'saying'

I was unsure 1/3 to1/2 of the time yet I scored a 34! I really surprised by this. Then again, my feeling of being unsure could just have been caused by my trouble with anxiety.

I got 13 out of 36..it's lower than I expected but I admit that I'm not good at reading people's emotions through their eyes, since I hardly even make eye contact

I thought it would be easy...
I found it hard...
I thought I would do poorly...
I was surprised I did well...

I got 26. I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I guessed most of them. That, and a bit of the old process of elimination.
I'm a geniass!

34/36. As someone said if I wasn't given the 4 options I likely would have gotten 0. Some of them were only coming up as either positive emotion/negative emotion. I guess this is because in real life you'd have the context of the situation to help you. In person and watching tv though I usually feel like expressions move to quick for me to keep up.

31/36, which is above average. That has led me to think that, maybe, the problem with ASD is not "being unable to read body language" but rather "not being able to use that information in our social life". :?:
