He has a book out which I am almost finished reading, about his life. It is very interesting.
Called 'Born on a blue day'. Well worth investing in or borrowing, I say

I will add that book to my 'must read' list.

Very interesting article (and of course, the cat :) )

I liked the way his numbers gave him comfort like my writing gives me. I also like what he said about the order in his house giving him comfort. I don't create that, I have an OCD dh for that, but it is that exact feeling. I liked that he said he didn't like the unexpected ringing of the phone or unexpected events (visits by people!). I'm glad he got that out there. That seems to be such a hard concept for almost all NTs to understand I find. They just do not get that their need for contact does not override my need for peace. Of course, this man chose to go out and be with people so now they will see this as vindication of their behavior that I "need to get out and be with people." Thank God my husband is 6'4" and is a great physical block to stop that behavior.

I do wonder though why he chose to leave his own mind. Hmmm He must have been extroverted first and retreated there. I would like to ask him that.

ahh, me too! I'm always the last one to pick up the phone if it's ringing, hehe :P

Very good article, a little bit short, but a good story to let more people know about AS.

I am so much startled by the ring of the telephone, that I have to disconnect it much of the time.

I get back at the telemarketers by being nasty to them.

"Hi! This is Mara from blah blah blah internati..."
-"**** you."
*click*

"Hey! Are you interested in a free trip to new york?!"
-"No."
"Are you sure? It's free!"
-"No, travel is the work of the devil."
"..."
-"Bye."
*click*

"This is Norman from the Police department, and I'm sending you a bumper sticker to thank yo for your support!"
-"I don't appreciate your attempt to guilt me out of my money."
"Sir, we could really use your support!"
-"Too bad."
*click*

It really helps take the edge off of the unexpected calls. It even gives me something to look forward to. Otherwise I'd just go crazy.

I got rid of my cell phone because I absolutely hate unexpected phone calls. I've actually been driven into swearing fits (several times) by people who called multiple times on a daily basis. Cell phone=devil.

Sometimes they ask for someone in the house, and when they aren't home, they ask
- With whom am I talking?
- He's not home right now...
- ...So I can know with whom I talked...
- He's not home right now...
- What's your name?
- He's not home right now...

they seem to get it by the third time... a little bit slow I think :P
