I've heard that Autism by way of Aspergers is a neurological disorder however I also read that Autism is a Developmental disorder I've personally asked around to me it all depends on whom one talks to one could argue that it is a neurological disorder but yet another specialist could argue it's a Developmental disorderWhich is it? and can somebody give me an example of how it could also be developmental disorder if it were the case?

Thanks guys

They are saying all the same things basically.

Developmental disorder as in stunted development and neurological disorder as in the brain. Developmental disorder is a lose term being used here to describe the stiuation of the brain.
If I didn't fully develope kidneys it's still a developmental disorder.

It is. It's thought to be a disorder of the brain in it's development.

My understanding is that a developmental disorder is one that has its genesis in experiences of, and responses to, the environment. It's something that is not innate.

Neurological disorders can be either innate (which ASD is) or acquired (eg Parkinson's disease).

ASD is an innate, neurological condition.

You read all sorts of things on the net. Flat earthers, barrow-pushing careerists, nutcases.. Most are opinion, and many of the opinions are not related to fact. Now aint that a fact!

Both develomental disorders and neurological disorders can be innate or acquired.

Developmental disorders have their onset before adulthood, and affect the course of childhood/adolescent development.

Neurological disorders can have an onset of any age, and do not necessarily affect early development.

Autism is both.
